Valeria Castanero
Valeria has extensive experience representing individual and corporate clients in complex commercial litigations in federal and state courts, as well as in arbitration proceedings. Valeria’s practice focuses on business and intellectual property disputes, including: complex contractual disputes, breaches of fiduciary duty, disputes concerning the use or misappropriation of confidential information, trade secrets, trademark prosecution, and copyright and trademark infringement. Valeria also has significant electronic discovery experience, and counsels clients concerning best practices for electronic data preservation, collection and production when facing a dispute.
Prior to joining Firestone Greenberger, Valeria worked as Of Counsel in the Litigation Department of the New York City law firm, Moses & Singer LLP. Prior to that, she was an associate at the Law Offices of J.D. Geraigery, a boutique intellectual property law firm in New York, representing clients in copyright, trademark and patent prosecution matters.
Valeria earned her Juris Doctor from Fordham Law School (2009). For her undergraduate degree, she attended Boston College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Communications (with a pre-law focus) (2005), as well as a Masters in Secondary Education (2006). Prior to pursuing her legal career, Valeria taught high school history, which provided her valuable experience in learning how to effectively communicate facts and ideas, as well as how to engage a sometimes less than enthusiastic audience.
